Creating Tiling Patterns in Houdini 17.5 - Wood Planks

Coupon Code: patternsone

Howdy guys! I wanted to write a little about the new Tiling Patterns series I am producing for Houdini Beginners. I have often found that individuals new to Houdini find it hard to construct new networks that produce cool procedural models. This really comes down to the amount of time and exposure one has in Houdini. This is wanted I wanted to tackle with this series of mini-courses.

Each month I will be producing one of these min-courses aimed at beginners to Houdini. We will walk through a small manageable project and learn how to create a new procedural pattern. If you look at the world around us it is filled with patterns. From Buildings, to roads, to terrains, etc...we can see patterns in everything. This is why it is so crucial to learn these small techniques in an isolated project. We can laser focus on the pattern and the nodes to create them so you can go and use it in a larger project or system of nodes.

The following videos are the first 6 video in the Wood Planks course. If you'd like to purchase the full course, you can use the link here: https://gum.co/woodplanks and use the Coupon code "patternsone" to get it for $2.99.

Let me know what you think and if you have any requests as to the Patterns you'd like to see for future mini-courses! Thanks so much! :-)
